2013 Skateboarding Hall of Fame and Icon Awards Ceremony

(From last year’s event) Enjoy a night of fun, friends and great memories as we honor the�skateboarders, industry pioneers and icons that have left an indelible�imprint on the history of skateboarding and our culture. The 4th Annual Skateboarding Hall of Fame and Icon Awards Ceremony will be held at the Sheraton Park Hotel in Anaheim, California on May 9th, 2013. Now that the inductees have been announced, I must say that I am a little annoyed that legendary X Games announcer has been shunned once again by the skate communety.� Allow me to refresh your memory on the CHICK HEARN of skateboard commentary. But watching the video, another OG X Games veteran who we want to know the whereabouts is play-by-play announcer Paul Higgins.� He was known as the announcer who could name any trick, or make up a name for a trick at the drop of a hat for any skateboard trick or rollerblade trick.� Most people only know rollerblading, while some only know skateboarding.� Paul knew both.   Unfortunately, X Games America lost Paul Higgins.� That’s right, we lost him to X Games Asia and were no longer fortunate enough to hear his play by play color commentary [...]
