?Waiting For Lightning? Will Make You Cry
As many of you already know, I’m a film lover, a film BUFF, and a cinephile.� I watch anything and everything; multiple times if possible.� You name it, I’ve seen it.� Some of my favorite films are about action sports.� Of course there are the cliche films everyone knows about like Gleaming The Cube, Rad, and the PAUL RODRIGUEZ FILM, but I’m more into the obscure and auteur variety such as PRAYER, OVER THE TOP, or THE SKATEBOARD KID starring my favorite actor of all time, Willy Manaloto Santos. So naturally I would see anything about action sports including the Danny Way documentary WAITING FOR LIGHTING, the inspirational story of visionary skateboarder Danny Way. I thought I knew Danny Way’s life story pretty well considering he is part of the reason why I got into skateboarding in the first place.� Since ’92, he was actually one of my favorite action sports enthusiasts until 2010 when TAIG KHRIS broke Danny’s record breaking drop in.� So I figured there was nothing new to learn from this documentary.� I figured it would be a relaxing 90 minute film showcasing old footage I have already seen from the past 20 plus years.
