Unit rider Tom Pagès has upset the world of International FMX by landing 2nd place, just behind Todd Potter, at the Glen Helen round of Red Bull X-Fighters without doing any backflips in his runs. Tom attacked the biggest course ever in an FMX competition with his unique bag of tricks and style, including the biggest whips in the world, multiple body varials and some incrediblly big jump transfers. He was one of only a few riders who were jumping the big natural terain jumps, and it was evident that the judges scored well in return.

It is refreshing to see a new style of riding in competition, and hopefully Tom will now get the opportunity to take his skills to this years X Games, as well as the remaining 3 rounds of Red Bull X-Fighters around the world.

In the final round against USA rider Todd Potter, Tom was planning to attempt the incredily dangerous flair on a specially designed qaurter pipe. A trick that has only ever been done once before in competition. However, Tom failed to execute his body varial, after alrady pulling 2 in the earlier rounds, which lost him the chance at winning the final round.
