What is it about our Spaniard riders who are ripping it up at the moment? In addition to Andreu Lacondeguy carving up his rivals in Best Trick and slopestile MTB contests across the globe, Melero posted his best-ever international FMX result in Madrid on the weekend by finishing fourth at the Red Bull X-Fighters.

Melero, who was a crowd-favourite from the get-go, showed the world's best he's hungry to be the next king of FMX with a solid performance in the semis against Ausssie Blake "Bilko" Williams. Despite his best efforts, Melero was controversially pipped 3-2 by the five-judge panel and had to settle for fourth behind fellow countryman Dany Torres (1st), Bilko (2nd) and Josh Sheehan (3rd).

After a ninth in Rome and a fourth in Madrid, the likeable kid with silky-smooth style has proved he has what it takes to be a title-winner. We can't wait to see what he brings to the next round in Poland!

Melero throws a textbook No-Handed Flip. This kid has a big future in FMX.
