Rise Above With Buddy Elias
Doing action sports can be pretty taxing on the body. You may wake up and complain, ?Ahh my knees hurt.? ?It?s too hot!? ?My AQUABATS CD got stolen?. Well often times you may not realize it, but your problems and dilemmas are totally lame. Take a look at Buddy Elias?s story and it may just change your perspective on things. It may also encourage you to stop smoking if you do smoke. This week’s Rise Above introduces Buddy, who lost his leg due to a rare disease called Thromboangiitis Obliterates (aka “Buerger’s Disease”). Buddy was a skateboarder prior to surgery and after the doctors removed his leg, he turned to skateboarding to keep himself anchored and comeback from his struggle. Watch every other Thursday as Rise Above showcases individuals in action sports who have overcome some of life’s biggest obstacles including physical disabilities, addiction and more. Through perseverance they have continued to push their sports and inspire others. These are their stories.
