Robbie Marshall - busiest rider in Oz?

Robbie railing ruts at Raymond Terrace.

Wow, this year just won't stop for two minutes... Things started getting really busy for me around mid May. In the one week I had two days of FMX at the Kempsey show and then three days at the Ipswich show for Kaos FMX. The following weekend I had Chinchilla show Friday night, Brookfield show Saturday night, then turned around and rode to Toowoomba for a round of the Australian MX Nationals.

June has been the busiest so far but, with three days at Rockhampton show and then drove through the night back to Coolum for the opening round of the Qld MX State Titles, which ran over 4 days this year. I had some good results finishing in the top three a couple of times. The end result was a tied 5th place finish. It was really good with some national riders there like Jay Marmont, Michael Phillips and Todd Waters, so the competition was tough.

The next stop was the next round of the MX Nationals at Coonabarabran. What a track! It was definitely the most fun I've had at a national so far this year. I had some good battles in the last two motos and reeled in the likes of Dan Reardon and Cody Cooper for some awesome racing, which I haven't had in a while. It felt so good to get up there and mix it up with a couple of the factory riders! I finished a disappointing 15th place due to a couple of bad races, but to get in the top 10 for the last couple was good.

Last weekend I rode a pretty cool FMX demo over two days in Rockhampton. It was for a street and hotrod motorama show, so we got to see some pretty cool cars and put on some good demos with myself Cam Sturtridge and Luke "Revy" Saunders all riding.

Right now I'm in the middle of a three-day MX riding school held by Ben Schodel. Myself and Jacob Wright are giving Ben a hand and doing all the demo riding and handing down some of our knowledge to the younger guys coming through. It's awesome when you see some succeeding and improving in leaps and bounds over such a short time.

To top the month off, I've flown down to Gosford for a couple of days testing with the awesome "Bondy" and then we're road-tripping in the race truck to the next round of MX Nationals this weekend in Albury. It's gonna be a cold one!!

I'll have plenty of more stuff happening in July, so I'll keep you posted and try to get some more photos. Hope you like the update this time round. Keep it real, guys!!
